College Essay Support Program - As we navigate uncharted territory, many rising seniors are anxious to begin their college essays because it is a relatively concrete exercise. I have been working with students in this process for several years. Through a comprehensive and individualized approach, students can check the college essay task off their list this spring. The process involves an initial virtual meeting with the student to understand his/her aspirations followed by a comprehensive review of academic, extracurricular accomplishments, history and struggles. Development of a resume is also completed through this process. From there we move into guidance of essay topic selection and idea generation. Finally, each student will have a minimum of 5 essay revisions. All essay revisions will be cloud based. Scheduling will work around the student's availability. No college admission process is the same. So, the generic forms, lists and guidelines are only somewhat helpful. Each student benefits from an individualized process where the goal is to find schools that are most compatible to the specific student. June is a great time for students to take SAT subject tests. As students complete AP, IB and honors course work in their sophomore and junior years they are naturally prepared for subject specific tests in June. The deadline for registering for the June tests is quickly approaching.

SAT Subject Tests are college admission exams on subjects that you choose to best showcase your strengths and interests.

In most districts counselor to student ratios are high. The college application process must be individualized. I am currently building my class of 2021. I keep the number of students per graduating class under 10. I have a few spots for the class of 2020 and 2021 is also filling quickly.
