September 11 is Patriot Day, a day our country sets aside to honor and remember those lost on September 11, 2001 and those who bravely risked their lives to offer aid. September 11 is a day that we recognize our local First Responders and thank them for risking their lives, day after day, to ensure our safety, right here at home.
On behalf of the students and staff of both Bedford Elementary and Milton Elementary Schools, we would like to extend this invitation to our local first responders. We look forward to celebrating you from 7:30 until 8:00 in the BES Café. We know our students will want to say hello, give high fives and hugs as they enjoy their own breakfast time.
We invite our students to wear RED, WHITE, and BLUE in honor of our Hometown Heroes and this land that we love on Friday, September 11! 🇺🇸

The Nursery Rhyme Olympics made another stop in Kindergarten! 🥇Mrs. Lynn’s students had so much fun as they wrapped up their Nursery Rhyme unit with Olympic Games!
Our smiling nursery rhyme experts enjoyed putting learning into action as they rotated through the various stations and worked toward their gold medals!

Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair is next week, September 8-11! 📚 This is the first of two book fair fundraisers that will take place during the school year. Students will visit the Book Fair during their library class times and at other times with teacher permission. The Book Fair will be open during our Grandparent Breakfast times on September 8 and 9, as well as from 5:00 until 7:00 on Tuesday evening for our Title I Literacy Night.

Students will be bringing home a Book Fair flyer this week so families will have an idea of the types of books to expect to see at the Book Fair. Please be sure to discuss with your child your expectations for their independent book fair shopping time. While students are always reminded to purchase BOOKS first, it's great when they know your expectations when it comes to posters, journals, or gadgets! 😍

It was a Fabulous Friday in Mrs. Konkle and Mrs. Stark’s Kindergarten class as they celebrated the end of their Nursery Rhyme unit by participating in the Nursery Rhyme Olympics!!  Each student completed a series of Nursery Rhyme Stations to earn their gold medal!!🏅They were beaming with pride!

Learning is fun!! We can’t wait to see what they learn this week! 🐻💙⭐️🕷️🕯️🐑🥚👞

After doing their best on iReady testing all week, Ms. Staley’s second graders decided to have a small break and squeeze in a Dolly Parton lesson! Students read "Coat of Many Colors", created their own coats, and listened to Dolly music while coloring🩷🦋!
During math, students got to do a ‘Write the Room’ activity that helped them further understand what they’ve been learning about this week… graphs!
