The focus of the company remains in educating the students of the region through performances, lectures, workshops, and residencies. The company continues to present to the public, corporate, and collegiate/university audiences as well.

Yesterday our dancers were back in the studio for our first day of rehearsals for the 2026/2027 season! It was a great day in the studio as we were joined by our first guest choreographer Donald Laney! We are looking forward to a great season ahead, keep an eye out for concert dates near you!

A New Chapter starts for WV Dance Company. Six new works of choreography will be started tomorrow, August 10, 2026. We are thrilled to have our dancer Donald Laney as our first choreographer extraordinaire! The incedible full touring company will be Nash Dawson, Kristen Fisher, Bailey Heffernan, Chloe Mansheim, and Owen Tidd. Senior members Dane Toney and Emily Dodrill Akers will be joining next week as well. Look forward to venues where you can join us!

WV Dance Company brings an evening of concert dance to ADF’S Scripps Dance Studios!
Artists, yes. Athletes, certainly. But even more so, we are explorers, examining the world with curiosity, enthusiasm, and compassion. We are humanists and scientists.
Through the art of movement, we will celebrate two beautiful works choreographed by Gerri Houlihan, our esteemed guest choreographer. Other repertory works will be performed including a solo by Donald Laney, a multigenerational piece by Dane Toney, and a composition of Holden Akers-Toler, a master’s graduate of North Carolina Central University.

Another chapter of touring has ended. Here are a few photos of WVDC last adventures. Thank you all who follow us! We were able to spend time with so many special people the entire tour! It was especially a wonderful way to end by performing at ADF studios and being with Gerri Houlihan once again! Her class had WVDC dancers from different generations dancing beautifully together! And then to visit Radford University, WV Dance Festival and have the last day be with our WV students and teachers at Whitesville Elementary. Until we meet again...

AS the director of WV Dance, I am beyond appreciative for all the beautiful work that Gerri Houlihan has shared with us. We are all beyond excited to be on our way to Durham to spend the weekend performing her work at ADF studios and getting to take her class on Sunday! Thank you Gerri!
