**Skyward Qmlativ Social Media Questions Update – August 21**
Thank you to everyone who has been patient with us as we work through the transition to our updated Skyward system. We know this has been frustrating for some families, so we wanted to provide a little more context and answer some of the questions we have been receiving.
This transition has actually been in the works for more than a year. Because we needed to complete summer school and other July reporting in our previous system before converting the data, we followed Skyward's implementation timeline and began the final transition during their recommendation of the first week of August. The conversion itself took approximately a week, and we opened access as soon as the system was expected to be ready.
Unfortunately, once hundreds of families began using the system in real-world situations, we discovered issues that did not appear during our testing. Some involved settings that needed to be changed on Skyward's end, while others involved particular account situations, such as individuals who are both staff members and parents, inactive accounts, missed checkboxes from families, parent/guardian primary and secondary contacts, or families with multiple students.
We understand why this has been especially frustrating because **Skyward still looks familiar, but the underlying system has changed significantly.** We chose this upgrade in part because it allowed us to carry existing information forward rather than requiring families to start over in an entirely new student information system. We expected that to make the transition more seamless than it has been.
The good news is that we believe **many of the larger issues have now been resolved**, and we continue working with Skyward on those that remain.
A couple of important clarifications:
• Families do **not** need to wait until August 31 for assistance. Beginning **Monday, August 24 at 1:00 p.m.**, families who still cannot access Skyward may call their student's school for assistance with scheduling. It may also work well to connect with friends who have had success getting in so you may be able to get answers sooner.
• We initially asked families to give us some time before contacting us individually because our staff needed to focus first on identifying and correcting systemwide problems that could resolve issues for hundreds of families at once. That work has been occurring continuously behind the scenes.
• If your account still shows as inactive, you did not receive the expected email, you can access one child but not another, or you are experiencing another issue, **please let us know.** You may contact us, and we will work through the remaining individual issues.
We know that families simply want to know their child's teacher, schedule conferences, and be ready for the start of school. We appreciate your patience while we get everyone across the finish line.
The message we sent to families yesterday with additional support dates and information is included below. Thank you for continuing to work with us as we complete this transition.
Skyward Qmlativ Update
Thank you, Becker families, for your patience as we work through the first few days of our new Skyward Qmlativ system!
As families began logging in yesterday, we identified several issues that we are actively troubleshooting. Some have already been resolved, and we are continuing to work with Skyward on the issues that remain. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we work through these initial challenges.
Still need to schedule a conference?
If you are unable to access Skyward, you may call your student's school beginning Monday, August 24 at 1:00 p.m. for help scheduling a conference.
