We’re excited to announce our 2023 Outstanding Community Member Award recipients!

Amy Drehmel and the Compassion Connection

Jean, Mark, and Amy have been a part of Becker for decades and have supported the Becker Schools and the community through many different organizations.

Jean, a graduate of Becker, has lived and worked in the community for her entire adult life. Jean has volunteered throughout the greater Becker community for Palmer Township and the Sherburne History Center. She has chaired or been on a committee for Relay for Life, Becker Farmers Market, and Farm Friends Barn Board. Jean loves to volunteer and stay involved. She has loved raising her 2 kids in such a supportive community.

Mark, a lifelong resident, has supported Becker through his work at the school teaching, coaching, and in administration. He’s committed his time to The Patriot, volunteering for numerous boards and organizations, and a term on the Becker City Council. Mark has enjoyed raising his daughters in the community he grew up in. He’s always keeping things fun with his jovial attitude and quick wit.

Amy and the Compassion Connection have greatly focused their energy on serving those in need, particularly struggling families. Amy has been in Becker for almost a decade and has greatly enjoyed immersing herself and her family in the community. She’s volunteered for and supported Backpack Buddies, Becker Homeless Project, and Headstart. Amy has been proud to be part of the Becker community and has greatly enjoyed seeing the community rally around and support families time and time again.

We look forward to celebrating Jean, Mark, and Amy and their commitment to Becker on April 22nd!
