Fir Grove Elementary Music

Recorders & music binders will be available for all 4th graders to pick up at the Fir Grove lunch distribution area on Thursday, April 1st (no foolin'!) at 11am-12pm. Items will be available for pick up in the main office after that. We will begin using recorders in Music Zoom the week of April 5th.

Hooray! Fir Grove students are so excited to know that they will be getting instruments to play at home. No less than one day after we reached our $5,000 goal, I had students asking me, "When do we come pick up our instruments??"

Some are still learning what this project means. After I announced it in class, they said, "Wait... you mean we get an instrument even if we didn't pay money?" YES!! Then they all jumped for joy. I don't think they expected this level of generosity. Some of them are still in disbelief!

Thank you to everyone who supported this campaign by contributing and spreading the word. I think this project is going to make a world of difference for Fir Grove kids.

It's going to take time to submit & receive orders, inventory & label instruments, and set up distribution. The 5th graders already have their recorders, and 4th grade will start in March. We're hoping to have K-3 instruments out sometime in January. I'll send updates as we go!

Fir Grove’s Instrument Project reached $3800 today! Only $600 more to go to reach our goal, and remember: All donations are DOUBLED with a match from the Beaverton Education Foundation. Can we get it funded by MONDAY?? This is very exciting!!

Just three more days until our 2nd & 5th grade concert!

We warmly invite you to our Fir Grove 2nd & 5th Grade music concert at 6:15pm on Thursday, February 13th. Please bring family, friends, and neighbors!

The students will take turns performing with their grade level on stage and, for the first time since we can remember, share the stage with the Avancé Choir from Southridge High School, who will perform a couple songs à capella and then join the rest of the students for a grand finale rendition of Stand By Me by Ben E King.

Doors open at 5:45pm and performers should arrive by 6:00pm in dressy attire The concert will last about an hour.
