And that’s a wrap!!! The Gladwin girls cross country team finished their season off at the regional meet at Chippewa hills yesterday. Three of the seven girls earned medals by placing in the top 20 for the large school division. Finishing first for Gladwin was Vada Povey in 6th. Arliena Grant wasn't too far behind her in 7th. Isabelle hurst finished 17th, Chloe Johnson 21st, Avery graybill 24th, Nara swinson 26th, Isabel Merritt 32nd. Great season ladies! I am going to miss you all so very much! 💙🤍

Despite the treacherous and confusing course last night and a few out with injuries and sickness, we did quite well. Olivia and Arliena both placed in conference for Junior high. Lily placed in conference for the intermediate school as well. This was a sad night for our littles since it was their last race of the season. Junior high has their last race next week at regionals in Chippewa hills.

The Gladwin junior high girls Cross Country team competed at the cedar bend invitational at our home course on Saturday, October 5. The girls ran fantastic and took first place overall! We had five girls earn medals. The first Gladwin girl to finish was Arliena Grant in 2nd place at 13:58; Olivia Evans in 8th with a time of 15:15; Vada Povey in 9th in 15:16; Isabelle Hurst 11th at 15:41; Chloe Johnson 14th at 16:38; Avery Graybill in 22nd at 18:05; Nara Swinson in 24th at 18:29; Isabel Merritt finished 32nd at 28:03. Their next race is Saturday, October 12 In Pleasant.

The first Gladwin girl to finish was Arliena Grant finished in 11th place at 14:14; Olivia Evans in 15th with a time of 14:36; Vada Povey in 30th in 15:11; Isabelle Hurst 37th at 15:41; Chloe Johnson 55th at 16:48; Avery Graybill in 61st at 17:41; Nara Swinson in 69th at 17:48; Isabel Merritt finished 93rd at 36:42.

The first intermediate girl to finish was Lily Leinenger in 5th place with a time of 8:07; Mattie O’Callaghan 12th at 8:51; Emma Gee finished 14th at 9:11; Adysen Reed 21st at 10:41; Alena Greer 22nd at 10:57; Maggie Edick 26th at 12:22; Lillian Geiger 27th at 12:27. Their next race is Wednesday, October 2 in Ogemaw.

The first Gladwin girl to finish was Arliena Grant finishing in 15th place at 15:19; Olivia Evans was 20th place running 15:28; Vada Povey 25th at 16:04; Isabelle Hurst 39th at 17:03; Chloe Johnson 49th at 17:52; Avery Graybill 67th at 19:32; Nara Swinson 68th at 19:40. Their next race is Saturday September 28 in shepherd.

The Gladwin junior high girls Cross Country team competed in the White Pine Invitational in Saginaw on Friday, September 13. The first Gladwin girl to finish was Olivia Evans in 16th place running 14:51; Arliena Grant 31st at 15:37; Vada Povey 33rd at 15:46; Chloe Johnson 83rd at 18:03; Isabelle Hurst 86th at 18:10; Avery Graybill 96th at 18:26; Nara Swinson 117th at 19:51. Evans, Grant and Povey each earned medals for placing in the top 50. Isabel Merritt ran the one mile race and finished 80th with a time of 12:11.

The Gladwin intermediate girls Cross Country team competed in the White Pine Invitational in Saginaw on Friday, September 13. The first Gladwin girl to finish was Lily Leinenger in 22nd place with a time of 8:22; Emma Gee finished 32nd at 8:53; Alena Greer 45th at 9:38; Pyper Cushing 69th at 11:31; Adysen Reed 70th at 11:33; Lillian Geiger 81st at 12:15; and Maggie Edick 85th at 12:24.

Their next race is the first Jack Pine Conference meet of the season on Wednesday in Meridian.
