Game-tastic event was so much fun!!! I would definitely say it was a success!
Game-tastic-event! It is on Saturday the 11th from 6pm-9pm. Right after callbacks for The Little Mermaid. It will be held at Faith Center o'aloha Foursquare church. There will be a cost of $3. Bring some extra money for some tasty snacks! It is $1 per snack. We will play lots of games and have fun activities! This is for students and siblings!
The Beaverton TREK Fall bake sale proceeds will be going towards the ministry Road to Hope. Road to Hope is a maternity home that serves women 18 and up with support during their pregnancy.
During the Winter session of classes we will be organizing a food drive for the Sunshine Pantry. There will be more details to come soon.
We will be doing another service project during the winter session. Our plan is to volunteer with Portland Rescue Mission which is an organization that provides food, shelter, recovery and other services to people affected by homelessness in Portland. There will be more details about the date and time soon, but all are welcome, this is not just for TREK!

TREK is getting ready to start again! I sent an email out to all students, but here are the basics.
When does TREK meet? This year TREK will meet twice a month at CMBC directly after classes from 8:05-9:00pm. The first meeting will occur on Monday, October 10th.
Who participates in TREK? Any Journey students who are in high school and taking Journey classes.
Do I have to participate in classes to be involved in TREK? TREK members agree to participate in two JTAG session classes and do shows as able during the JTAG season (September through June) in either cast or crew.
What do you have to do to be involved in TREK? TREK members go through an application process which is reviewed by the TREK advisors and the class coordinator. Please take time to read through the information regarding TREK commitment and thoughtfully consider applying for TREK.
How do I apply? New Student Applications are attached in the email I sent and can be turned in at class to Laura Barksdale, or at rehearsals to Rachael Fissell. Note that New Member Applications require two written letters of recommendation from an adult (not a parent). You may have those written letters of recommendation sent by 5:00pm on Monday, October 3rd to three people; myself,Lauren Bowen, and Kevin Moore. We are cc'd above. Please ask the people writing a recommendation to state your first and last name at the top of the letter.
What about students who have participated in TREK before? We would like to have you submit a Returning Student Application.
Who are TREK student leaders? You can be! TREK is run by student leadership and overseen by the advisors. If you have been on leadership in the past, or are interested in trying something new, let us know you are interested.
How do I get Mrs.Eremeyeff's signature for my application? I can sign applications at rehearsal on Friday night. Any applications turned in on Monday, October 3rd will be brought to me after classes by staff for signature.
Who are the TREK advisors? We are blessed to have Lauren Bowen and Kevin Moore working as a team to advise and work with our TREK students this year. They were both at classes last week where they introduced themselves to the students and teachers. This week Lauren will be at classes to answer any questions that you may have and to say hello!
Glad to meet you! Our advisors wanted to introduce themselves to you.
I am Kevin Moore. I grew up at Village Baptist Church, where I accepted Christ at a young age. I volunteered and was later hired in Children's Ministry at Village for a total of 12 years. I left that position to focus on finishing my Bachelor's Degree in Conflict Resolution from Portland State, in which I graduated in June 2016. I began working in Youth Ministry at Common Ground Church in September 2015 and that is where my first interaction with Journey began. I am very excited to be a TREK Advisor, to experience and learn more about Journey, but also to hang out with amazing people. My hope is that we grow in our relationships with Christ on a deeper level, by serving others and glorifying Him, together.
Hello! My name is Lauren Bowen and I am excited to be joining the Beaverton Trek team. Trek excites me because it brings together two things I greatly enjoyed when I was in high school; student leadership and theater. Although I have worked with Journey in many facets since it first began, this will be a new endeavor for me. When I am not participating with Journey I am spending time with my husband Matt and my kiddos, Penny (8), Milo (5) and Elouise (3).
