When one of your families brings you fresh eggs from their backyard flock 🥰

When I observe a child truly passionate about what they’re doing, when their light is shining so brightly it’s undeniable. When they initiate, invite one another, ask to join, and collaborate—it is, to me, the most beautiful kind of connection to observe.

“We must make brown.”

Later, as I peel the paper gently from the easel, she comes close and says, in a very soft voice, “that’s for you.”

In June, I wrapped up my 20th year of teaching early childhood education.

And to think — two decades ago, I started this journey with my daughter riding her Big Wheel through the halls of Sunny Hills after hours. So much of our life — and our family — has been poured into this school.

She grew up in these classrooms, and this year, I had the joy of watching her return — not as a child, but as a teacher. To share this milestone with her, and to witness her step into her own greatness, has been one of the proudest moments of my life.

This feels very full circle. 💗
