So wonderful to see our alumni achieving great things! Excited to share Olivia Moyer's inspiring journey with everyone.

We are thrilled to reconnect with GIS (GSP) grad Olivia Moyer this summer! Olivia, whose family worked at our school (we miss those times!), first joined us in 2003 on the same day as our head of school, Blake Peters. How time flies! Olivia has since graduated from Oregon State and now excels as a Programs Coordinator at Reading is Fundamental in Washington, DC.

Thank you, Olivia, for visiting and sharing your journey with us! ☀️🏫

Summer is a great time for a throwback! Five years ago, our head of school, Blake Peters, his two sons, and the Newman family—whose children were proud students of GIS and have supported our school in countless ways over the years—worked together to build the back fence of our school. Today, all four kids have graduated, yet the strong sense of community and collaboration they exemplified lives on. Here's to the enduring bonds that make our school family so special! 🎓❤️🏫

Thrilled to celebrate our GIS alumni, Maia Schabel, for winning the Congressional Art Competition for Oregon's 1st District! 🎨🏆We're incredibly proud of your amazing talents!

This year’s winner of the Congressional Art Competition for Oregon's 1st District is Maia Schabel from Ida B. Wells High School. Lyra Roska, another student from Ida B. Wells, received an honorable mention. Congratulations to these two talented student artists!

Did you know you can earn a year of high school German credit by attending a four-week summer camp? Waldsee is a German immersion summer camp located in the beautiful north woods of Minnesota. Students in grades 9-12 of any language ability can earn a year of high school credit by attending one of the camp's credit sessions. Even better: there are still many scholarships available just for German. The best: you hardly realize how much German you're learning because you're having so much fun doing it!

To apply for scholarship funds, you first have to register for a credit session here:https://www.concordialanguagevillages.org/languages/german.
After you register, you'll apply for the scholarship through the passport fund:https://www.concordialanguagevillages.org/summer-youth-camps/scholarships

Please note that even though it says all funds have been exhausted for this year on this page, German high school credit funds are still available!

Questions? Feel free to reach out to Heidi Draheim-Shadbeh( [email protected] ), long-time GIS teacher and Waldsee staff member.
