As most of you likely know by now, our beloved colleague Gustavo Gordillo will be leaving us for an exciting new opportunity. We are excited for him and recognize the many contributions he has made over the past three years.
Here are a few of the great accomplishments Gustavo made in his role with Impact Beaverton and the Washington County Business Recovery Center:
• Direct business outreach in the very early stages of the pandemic. Just after starting to work here in summer 2020, he was out making friends and supporting the community – with in person delivery of PPE to help businesses stay open while keeping staff and customers safe.
• Bilingual workshops across a variety of topics with weekly Impact Info Sessions – helping to keep local business owners informed and connected as we all navigated the uncertainties of the pandemic and gradual re-opening of businesses throughout Beaverton.
• Direct client support for hundreds of local businesses across a broad range of industries. From restaurants to retail to childcare to cleaning services and many more, Gustavo has built an admirable reputation in our community for his knowledge and true concern for others.
• Business Walks and Community Outreach with and on behalf of our partners at the City of Beaverton. Gustavo, as Senior Outreach Coordinator, led many door-to-door activities providing local businesses with up-to-date information on grants and other resources, plus efforts to ensure business feedback into City planning efforts.
• Timely and time-consuming support for business owners in applying for grants and other funding. Since most of the application materials for City and other support grants are in English, Gustavo dedicated countless hours working alongside Spanish speaking business owners in applying for much needed funding to keep their businesses open and bills paid.
We are grateful for the true impact Gustavo has made on all of us, and the tremendous impact he has had within our community. We know we will continue to partner with him in his new role.
