If you're an ACH operator in Multnomah County, join us May 27th from 1:00โ4:00pm for the Multnomah County Operator Meeting featuring an interactive workshop led by our very own Matt Gannon. Matt will introduce the FOCUS (Focus on Control Using Steps) Dementia Care Framework, which is a care model he developed through more than 20 years of direct dementia care experience. Participants will gain insight into how losing a sense of control can contribute to distress and negative emotional expressions (often referred to as โbehaviors") for people living with dementia.
Through reflection and real-life case examples, attendees will explore practical strategies using the FOCUS framework to help restore a sense of control for people living with dementia while building confidence in providing compassionate, person-centered care.
