Meet a few of our Teva Oriata dancers who joined our ‘ori journey with a deeper purpose—not only to reconnect with their Polynesian roots, but to create that connection for their children too.
For many of us, culture is more than dance. It’s identity. It’s family. It’s language, stories, traditions, and the responsibility to pass those things on to the next generation.
We’re honored to be a place where our dancers can learn, reconnect, and keep their heritage alive—together with their tamari’i. 🌴❤️

We’re also honored to have been featured in “Oceania in Oregon,” a storytelling exhibit presented by students of the Oceania Capstone and Pacific Island Studies at Portland State University. The exhibit celebrated Pacific Islander communities throughout Oregon through photography, audio, cultural narratives, film, and personal stories exploring identity, migration, belonging, leadership, and the many experiences that make up Oceania in Oregon.
We’re grateful that our dancers’ stories—and the reasons they continue to seek connection to their culture—could be part of that story. 🌺
