Want to get deeper in to your music education? Enjoy plunking around on the piano, and writing your own songs?

Our own Makenna Bach has a class for you!

INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC THEORY & COMPOSITION

With a focus on chord function and analysis as well as strong melodic writing, we will learn to write several short compositions throughout this class. We will look at examples ranging from Bach and Beethoven to current film, game and pop music. Each week we will have a short composition assignment, and we will also have occasional chord analysis worksheets. If you want to learn how to write your own music while gaining a strong understanding of music theory, this course is for you!

We are excited about this new teaching resource from Rachel Barton Pine and plan to tune in tomorrow to hear her diligent daughter play book 1.

performed by Sylvia Pine (age 8, daughter of Rachel Barton Pine, Violinist).
