Dr. Maria Montessori beautifully stated, “Establishing lasting peace is the work of education.” This Memorial Day, our Mindful Montessori community pauses to honor the brave military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice. It is through their profound dedication that we are granted the peace, safety, and freedom we enjoy in our world today.

This legacy of service directly shapes the sacred environment we provide for our youngest learners. Because of the liberty defended for us, our children can spend their days in a safe, tranquil space—free to explore, choose their purposeful work, and joyfully grow. They are living the peaceful childhood that others fought so hard to protect.

For our parents, this solemn day reinforces our shared journey. It inspires us to partner deeply with you, nurturing our children to become the compassionate global citizens and peacemakers of tomorrow.

For our teachers, this day gives our daily mission a profound meaning. Driven by the legacy of those we lost, our educators intentionally guide our students toward empathy, active kindness, and gentle conflict resolution every single day. We aren’t just preparing children for school; we are cultivating the inner harmony needed to sustain a peaceful world.

At Mindful Montessori, we had the joy of celebrating Mother’s Day beautifully at both our school locations. We welcomed mothers with fresh, healthy fruit refreshments and invited them to join their children in a special mother-child painting project. The air was filled with laughter, creativity, and tender moments as pairs worked side by side, brushes in hand, creating colorful memories together. These shared experiences remind us of the deep bonds formed when we slow down and connect through joyful, meaningful activities.

Every year, we immerse ourselves in the beauty of fall, just as Dr. Maria Montessori envisioned: "There must be provision for the child to have contact with nature; to understand and appreciate the order, the harmony and the beauty in nature".

From our cozy infant rooms to vibrant primary classrooms, every corner bloomed with autumn magic! Children, Guides, Admin, and our wonderful parents came together to decorate, create, and connect with the season.

On October 24th, our Fall Festival lit up BOTH locations - Beaverton & PCC Rock Creek - with pure joy! Think delicious treats, giggles echoing through games, and the warmest, happiest faces everywhere. Kids, parents, and staff soaked up every golden moment.

Grateful for our amazing community and the vibrant colors of fall that inspire little hearts every day!

Experience the 'Diamond' Difference: New Primary Classroom Unveiled!

We are delighted to announce the opening of our brand-new primary classroom, 'Diamond', at PCC Mindful Montessori! This thoughtfully designed space features pristine Montessori materials, modern furniture, and new appliances, all carefully selected to enhance our students' learning experience. We currently have few open spots in this class.

This past Sunday, March 9th, at 2:00 AM, we transitioned to Daylight Saving Time. As the clocks sprang forward, we gained an extra hour of daylight, ushering in the promise of longer, brighter days. This shift offers a wonderful opportunity to extend our time with loved ones, engage in outdoor activities, and embrace the joys of spring. Let us take full advantage of Oregon's beautiful natural landscapes and create memorable experiences in the open air.

At Mindful Montessori, we deeply value the connection between children, parents, and the natural world. We encourage our entire community – students, families, and staff – to step outside and immerse themselves in the rejuvenating power of nature.

Please note that while smartphones and other devices with automatic date and time settings will have adjusted seamlessly, manual adjustments are necessary for analog clocks and watches. Remember to set them forward by one hour to accurately reflect the change.

We are thrilled to share that our second location, Mindful Montessori - PCC, officially opened its doors on April 1st, 2024! Mark your calendars because you're cordially invited to an incredible open house event on Friday, July 26th from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Come and experience an exclusive tour of our amazing classrooms and outdoor space, meet our dedicated teachers, and get the chance to interact with the Director at the Child Development Center - PCC Rock Creek Campus.

Now enrolling infants 6 weeks to 12 months old, Wobblers- 12 months to 24 months old, toddlers- 24 months to 36 months old and Montessori Primary- 36 months to 6 years old. Both full time and part time options are available. CCAMPIS grants for PCC students and ERDC- DHS payments accepted.

We were very honored and blessed to of had the opportunity to host @repbonamici today at our Mindful Montessori Beaverton location. We discussed the importance of early childhood education and how funding helps support our teachers, families and children. We are very grateful for the West Side Words program, collaborating and having their support here at our school. Congresswoman Bonamici toured our school, spoke to other teachers and also spoke with our directors about the future of education and opportunities for the early childhood education community. #montessori #montessorischool #education
