What a fantastic open house today! We were thrilled to celebrate our 20 year anniversary with such a great turnout!

A special highlight was having our founding member, Janis Johnson, serve as Toastmaster - it truly made the meeting feel special & come full circle. We also had an insightful & entertaining speech from Zonker Harris that gave us all something to learn from. As always, our fabulous president Margaret Jones, ran the meeting very gracefully!

It was amazing to connect with new guests who see the value in building their communication and public speaking skills. Huge thank you to the Walker Talker Team for pulling off such a great event - we can’t wait to see everyone again - either on Zoom next week (second Thursday of the month of the month) or in person again (third Thursday of the month). — with Zonker Harris and 3 others.

We had our first in person meeting since the start of the pandemic. We made it hybrid to include those who were tuning in through zoom. And though we stumbled here and there it was a great success. Congrats to Amy who won the Table Topics vote!

When a beveridge can keep your mind alive. Table topics at Walker Talkers gets some of the best stories.

We had a special meeting today to celebrate each other as members and give Toasts to our fellow Toastmasters and friends. Happy New Year all!!

Our theme was: The Wild Card
As much as we humans dislike it, a great deal of our lives involves navigating uncertainty. Some things in our experience are consistently hard to predict. Mountain weather, an emotionally volatile family member, the investment market, horse racing. The joker in a deck of cards….. We call these things, people, or events “Wild Cards,” colloquially.
