If you early extend it is not guaranteed that your hips are weak, have poor mobility, balance, or hinge ability. This guy moves great but doesn’t use his second gas pedal - the lead leg.

Golf Fitness and Performance Coaching
Every golfer over 35 should be working to improve their thoracic rotation mobility - this is one movement that can take stress off the low back and neck (where I see most pain in my 35+ year olds).
Your early extension could be a number of things but it’s likely you don’t push off your lead leg early enough (a/p force)..
This drill is with a 25lb band.. learn to push back with that lead leg and you’re on your way to a repeatable golf swing.
I love birdies
Maybe they will feel good for you too.
Lengthening things in flexion + external and extension + internal
Too many rotation drills go unloaded
This will help you own your torso rotation. You’ll see a longer backswing and maybe more club speed.
👍
Here are some of the movements we have practiced for developing speed and strength.
Kid has been putting in the work and every strength / power metric increased since the beginning of this last training phase. Proud coach moment.
It’s rare that I hop on a foam roller. This use is much more practical - offset lie, ball above the feet.
