SUMMER SPOTLIGHT ~ EXPLORER Series! Piano, Violin & Voice Explorers
Explore your first piano, violin, or voice class this summer for just $65!

Piano Explorers (5 ½ – 7 yrs)
Created for budding pianists, Piano Explorers explore rhythm, piano patterns, and simple songs. A piano is not required!

Violin Explorers (6 – 8 yrs)
Violin Explorers is your very first experience learning violin! Students learn how to hold the instrument and play simple songs. A violin is provided.

Voice Explorers (7 – 9 yrs)
Voice Explorers is designed to be a joyful introduction to learning healthy singing habits! In a nurturing, small group setting, students learn playful warm-ups and fun, age-appropriate songs while exploring how we use our voices to produce sound.

SUMMER SPOTLIGHT! Music Theatre Workshop (10 – 15 yrs)
MT Workshop offers an introduction to the world of musical theatre! Students sing, act, and dance through the week as they collaborate in small groups, learning scenes from popular Broadway shows. The program will explore the history of musical theatre, stage terminology, choreography, drama, and developing healthy singing habits through solo and ensemble work. Instrument Lab introduces students to an assortment of instruments, including piano, cello, guitar, ukulele, violin and voice! Join us Sunday, March 15 for an intimate recital featuring performing members Mary Jo Johnson (violin) with guest Abigail Scanlon (piano), Gretchen Germann (flute) and Barbara Acker-Mills (piano), and Thomas Wittberg with guest Raul Ordonez (guitars).

All are welcome! All DMC musical events are free and open to the public.

SUMMER SPOTLIGHT! Rock Band Performance Lab (12 – 18 yrs)

Led by the talented guitarist/songwriter Kyleen Downes, this collaborative rock band experience brings students together to learn, rehearse, and perform a full rock song as an ensemble. Musicians will explore how songs are built – locking in rhythm, listening to each other, shaping parts, and playing as a band – while building skills in improvisation, creativity, and stage-ready performance. The experience culminates in a live Showcase performance for family and friends after the final class at 7 PM.

SUMMER SPOTLIGHT! Orchestra Starter Pack (9 – 12 yrs)
Kick start your orchestra adventure in this exciting camp! Led by Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra violinist Kara Camfield, students will get a head start discovering string basics, while learning several fun pieces in a group orchestra setting. This is a perfect way for new beginners to try violin, viola or cello before school orchestra or private lessons! The camp concludes with a Parent Showcase.
