Due to predicted severe weather conditions and out of an abundance of caution, Lamar Institute of Technology will close at 12 p.m. June 17, 2026 through Thursday, June 18, 2026. This closure includes all summer camps and in-person, hybrid and online classes.

If an additional change to normal operations becomes necessary, it will be communicated through LIT email, official LIT social media pages and via an automated phone call and text to the number listed in your Self-Service Banner account. Please monitor these communications methods for official updates.

LIT’s Industrial Radiography Initial 40-Hour Radiation Safety Course & Certification is coming up June 8–12.
This course is available for $375 at LIT and helps prepare students to work as trainees in Texas and all NRC agreement states after successful completion.

LIT’s STEM to Industry Summer Camp is a free 3-day camp for students entering 10th and 11th grade.

Students will explore real career paths connected to local industry in areas like:

They’ll meet professionals, try hands-on activities, and see how school connects to future careers right here in Southeast Texas.
