IC-STEM Camp Week 2: Day 5

Today officially concluded our 2026 IC-STEM Camp! ⚛️🧪 The campers spent the day in groups constructing a unique Rube Goldberg machine. To put a spin on the original challenge, the goal for our campers was to create a design with a variety of obstacles for an egg to tumble through and still come out unharmed. 🥚💪

Team Blueberries took the win for this challenge but each group showed outstanding creativity and engineering skills! 🫐🏆

We had so much fun this week and we hope to see y’all next year!

That’s a wrap on another amazing week of IC-STEM Camp!

For our final challenge, campers put their creativity and engineering skills to the test by designing Rube Goldberg machines to keep an egg from breaking using a variety of materials. Congratulations to Team Blueberries for winning! 🫐

Thank you to all of our campers, families, volunteers, sponsors, and industry partners for making this week such a memorable experience. We hope everyone leaves with new friendships, new knowledge, and an even bigger passion for STEM. See you next year!

IC-STEM Camp Week 2: Day 4

We had so much fun with the campers today! A huge thanks to Valero, Indorama Ventures, Port Arthur LNG, and Cheniere for showing up and creating cool activities for the kids!

Things the campers got to do on Week 2: Day 4 of IC-STEM Camp:
- Watched a variety of sodas with different amounts of sugar react to Mentos. They even got to do their own little bottle! 🥤🍬
- Made their own lava lamps and learned about how different temperatures affected the rate of the reaction. 🌋
- Created a mixture in a bag that would explode due to pressure. 💥
- Made towers out of pipe cleaners that could hold a golf ball at the top to exercise some engineering skills. 🏰🔨
- Performed an experiment with strawberries that allowed them to learn about strawberry DNA! 🍓🧬

Can’t wait to see all the Rube Goldberg designs the campers come up with tomorrow! 🙌

Day 4 at IC-STEM Camp!

Science came to life with help from our amazing industry partners! Campers built straw towers, created lava lamps, made exploding bags, and even extracted DNA from strawberries. Every activity brought a new way to explore STEM through hands-on learning and teamwork.

Day 3 at IC-STEM Camp was packed with hands-on engineering and science!

A huge thank you to Dow for challenging our campers to design foil boats that could stay afloat, and to Exxon for an exciting wooden-stick catapult competition! Campers also explored weathering and erosion through an interactive demonstration and put their creativity to the test by building marble roller coasters.

Another day of learning, teamwork, and innovation!
