📢 Pop Up Class with Chris Bell 👏🏻👏🏻
The master class will take place at the Lamar University Dance Annex on Saturday, May 2, 2026, beginning promptly at 10:00 a.m.
An exciting opportunity for students, alumni, and members of the community to engage in a dynamic learning experience, participants can expect an engaging and enriching session that blends technique, artistry, and professional insight, offering valuable perspectives for dancers at all levels.
👉 Who is Chris Bell?
Chris Bell holds an MFA in Dance from Case Western Reserve University, a BS in Dance from Lamar University, and because he likes camping and the beach a BS in Geology as well. He is a choreographer, director, performer, and educator whose work seeks to transform everyday experiences into art, weaving humor, vulnerability, and reflection into choreography that resonates across communities and contexts.
👉 What does the class include?
This class digs into the space between the steps—the weight shifts, suspensions, and instinctive choices that give a phrase its life. We’ll work through a taught combination and use it as a playground for exploring transitions, timing, and the subtle decisions that shape how movement travels through the body. Expect an athletic and physically demanding class that builds stamina, sharpens attention, and invites dancers to find artistry not just in the moves themselves, but in everything that happens around them.
Forward all questions to [email protected].

Happy opening day to the cast and crew of "Next Draft: Student Works Series"!
"In a room full of scripts, sticky notes and late-night brainstorming, stories come alive in Lamar’s theater. From the timeless charm of “Little Women” to the sharp, emotional edges of “Half Bloomed,” students are not just performing — they’re writing, directing and discovering the power of their own voices."
