The JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing would like to extend another big thank you to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital for sponsoring The Nightingale Experience this weekend for the 24th year! Participants learned from valuable experiences at the JGDSON and CHRISTUS, such as labor and delivery, forensic nursing, surgery, and so much more. One student said this experience opened her eyes to areas of healthcare she had never considered before. We are certain that this feeling was shared by many!
Congratulations, future nurses and healthcare workers! We can't wait to see you again!

JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing Nightingale Experience has begun! Welcome to our future health care campers. Thank you, parents, for giving us your family this weekend and allowing them to participate in the wonderful collaborative event that includes students from over 22 area schools. A big thank you to CHRISTUS Hospital - St. Elizabeth for funding and co-hosting the event! The day begins at the School of Nursing!

JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing and Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas held our Annual JGDSON Awards Banquet this Spring. One of the special awards given at the ceremony is the "Extraordinary Nursing Student -Daisy Award". Numerous students were nominated, but this year's winner was BSN student Gracelyn Hazelwood for her exceptional patient care given in the ICU setting. Congratuations! You are amazing, Gracelyn!

Congratulations to Brianna Millen, a 2020 JGDSON alumna, who recently graduated from UT Health Houston with her DNP, with plans to obtain her license as a psychiatric nurse practitioner! We wish you all the best!

We loved welcoming students from Goosecreek ISD to tour our Nursing Program. With 76 students attending, this was our largest group tour yet! Students rotated through 4 interactive stations with the help of our amazing faculty and nursing students. It was a great experience sharing what our program has to offer and connecting with future healthcare professionals!

BIG congrats to Taylor Cole, a JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing alumni, for completing her MSN at UT Arlington!! Proof that hard work and passion pay off!
