Battery Creek High School

We are proud to have had the opportunity to attend National History Day in DC. Our valiant effort resulted in placing 21st out of 76 total submissions. We not only faced entries from all other states and US territories, but from 12 countries as well. The experience was one of a lifetime that our students will remember for the rest of their lives.
The icing on the cake was to recieve a shout out on social media from Dr. Edda Fields-Black, the author of the award winning book Combahee. This book served as the backbone of our project and our guiding light through this endeavor.

Way to go Creek FFA!

Our last day in DC was power packed, but full of fun and adventure. We will attend the Awards Ceremony in the morning to see where we placed for BCSD's first ever Representative for National History Day. We are going up against not just 49 other states, but 22 countries.

We have presented at National History Day and it now in the hands of the judges. We feel like we had a strong representation. The kids feel great about the performance. The kids are having a blast. Huge shout out to the team of ladies that made this possible at BCSD....
