Robert Smalls Middle and Intermediate Schools

An International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program World School; RSMS is a Title-1 school.
Robert Smalls Middle School is named for an ex-slave who became a Congressman representing Beaufort, South Carolina. During his entire political career, Robert Smalls fought for equal, comprehensive and compulsive education for African American children. To commemorate his dedication to the education of Beaufort County children, Robert Smalls School was inbuilt in 1925, ten years after his death.

Children need healthy meals to learn. Beaufort County School District offers healthy meals every school day. Breakfast costs $1.00; Elementary lunch costs $1.55; Middle/High lunch costs $2.05. Your children may qualify for free or reduced price meals. Reduced price is .30 for breakfast and .40 for lunch.
