It's with a heavy heart we announce the passing of a former Beaufort Academy teacher, Mr. Earl Piper. Mr. Piper became a part of the BA family after retiring from a highly successful career as a US Marine. His leadership experience and knowledge was a great asset in the classroom at BA. Mr. Piper was a wonderful teacher and mentor to all for many years at our school. Fly High, Eagle!

Ruth Ann Freeman Buckingham, BA Class of 1980, sadly passed away July 26, 2025. A proud graduate of Beaufort Academy, Anna (or "Ruthie" as she was known in school) went on to achieve success as an entrepreneur. Her passion for culinary arts and hospitality led her to become the beloved past co-owner of San Miguel’s, Santa Fe Café, and Bistro 17 in Hilton Head. These establishments were more than businesses; they were gathering places where friendships blossomed and community ties deepened. Anna’s compassion extended to all living creatures, with a special love for animals that was evident throughout her life.
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Church, 975 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. A reception at the church will follow the service. Flowers or memorials may be sent to Central Church to honor Anna. Memorial contributions may also be sent to Sherry Turner, PO Box 156, Woodruff S.C. 29388 to assists the ongoing care of Anna’s beloved dog, Coco.

𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝘽𝘼 𝘼𝙡𝙪𝙢𝙣𝙞!🦅 Football season is (almost) HERE and we want to celebrate the alumni that make our BA family so special!

🔹 Friday, September 19th is officially "Alumni Night" at BA, and we encourage ALL alumni (especially those celebrating milestone reunion years) to come reunite with old friends in the BA Courtyard from 5:30pm-7:00pm for a FREE Happy Hour Celebration. Heavy apps & drinks will be served along with live music!
🔹 Following the happy hour, all alumni are invited & encouraged to head to a VIP alumni tent at Merritt field to cheer on the Eagles as they take on Dorchester Academy. Kick-off is at 7:30pm.
