The Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) is committed to its mission of providing accessible, high-quality, career-oriented education and workforce training that serves the needs of individuals, businesses and industries in Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties. The college offers more than 60 programs of study with associate degree, diploma and certificate programs to choose from, including university transfer options, career and continuing education, online learning and dual enrollment for area high school students. We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the Lowcountry Career Connections Expo at TCL’s Beaufort Mather Campus.

Held in recognition of Workforce Development Month, this year’s expo brought together job seekers, local employers, workforce development organizations and community partners for a day centered on career exploration, professional networking and meaningful connections.

We are especially grateful to the job seekers who came ready to engage, the employers and organizations who shared opportunities and industry insight, and the TCL faculty and staff whose dedication helped make the expo possible.

Events like this are central to the mission of Technical College of the Lowcountry. By connecting our region’s future workforce with local employers, we help strengthen career pathways, expand opportunities and support continued economic and workforce growth throughout the Lowcountry.

Wednesdays are a favorite for our Mental Health Nursing students! TCL instructors Ms. Latoya Hagood and LaChrisa Ginn have created an engaging experience that combines learning with career exploration for our second-year nursing students. Each Wednesday, students hear from healthcare professionals working in mental health nursing, followed by recruitment luncheons that connect them with potential employers. This week, Hampton Regional Medical Center in affiliation with MUSC Health Hospital hosted our recruitment luncheon with Melanie Waggener and Michelle Strickland.

Throughout the semester, students gain insight into the many areas of mental health nursing, from substance abuse organizations and mental health facilities to correctional healthcare and adult day care programs serving patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We’re grateful to the healthcare professionals and organizations who invest their time in our future nurses and help them see the many career paths available in mental health nursing!

Our Beaufort Mather Campus was buzzing this morning as students, faculty, and staff gathered for Donuts at the Dock!

Between bites of something sweet, our Student Services team checked in with students, answered questions, and shared information about the resources and support available to help them succeed this semester.

Because sometimes, a donut + a good conversation is just what you need!

Donuts at the Dock happens the last Thursday of every month, come grab a donut, meet someone new, and connect with your TCL community!

TCL was proud to be part of the Welcome Aboard event at MCAS Beaufort, connecting with newly stationed Marines and their families and sharing how TCL can help turn educational goals into reality! Whether you’re looking to start a degree, continue your education, or make the most of your military education benefits, our Military & Veteran Navigator, Katie Lehmann, helps military-connected students navigate admissions, education benefits, degree planning, and registration. Katie is available Wednesdays at the MCAS Beaufort Education Center - reach out to learn more! We’re also excited to welcome students to Warrior Wednesday! Our next one is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14th from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at the MAVRC, Building 12, Beaufort Mather Campus.
