Meet our Childcare Manager/Director, McKenzie Young.

McKenzie was born in Aiken SC but quickly moved to Beaufort SC before she was even one years old. McKenzie is the oldest of her siblings(Gabby and Bryce Young) and she is the daughter of Jeremiah and Jessica Young.

McKenzie graduated from Battery Creek High School where she was part of The National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, President of The Interact Club, President of The Project Unify Club and so much more. She continued her education at The University of South Carolina Aiken with an Athletic Scholarship to play Softball. She studied exercise and sports science but has decided to change her major therefore she has taken time off from school. While taking time off from school she stubbled across The Foundry.

The Foundry has been her place of work for over a year now. She started out as another employee working childcare but quickly moved around the gym working childcare, the front desk and more. She recently became the childcare manager due to her love, care and determination for the kids and the childcare team itself. McKenzie may not have any kids of her own (except for being a dog mom to her puppies Harbour and Marina) but she treats each kid with love and care as if they were her own. She takes a lot of pride in making sure she has a strong relationship with the kids as well as their parents.

Aside from working at The Foundry, McKenzie is also a competitive Olympic Lifter for Team Beaufort based out of The Foundry. She loves fitness so much that she is also working on becoming a certified personal trainer for the gym. McKenzie also coaches. McKenzie is the Head Coach for the Beaufort Select 15U Volleyball Team and coaches along side her mother at Beaufort Academy for the Softball and Volleyball team.
