A huge THANK YOU to Homestead National Historical Park and the Filley Stone Barn for making it possible for our 4th Grade class to step outside the classroom and experience Nebraska history firsthand! Our students had the opportunity to learn about the history of the Filley Stone Barn, the people who built it, and the important heritage and history that helped shape the state of Nebraska.
Experiences like this bring history to life and give our students memories and lessons they will carry with them for years to come. Even better, they got to experience history through some amazing hands-on activities!
Our students had the opportunity to:
๐ฝ Pick and husk corn๐ช Make corn husk dolls ๐ Spin wool into yarn๐ฏ๏ธ Dip candles
๐งต Learn about quilting
These hands-on experiences helped bring history to life and gave our students a greater appreciation for the hard work, skills, and traditions of generations before us. We are so grateful for the time, knowledge, and hospitality shared with our students!
