⚡️The word of God strengthens our faith.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 says that the word of God” is at work in our lives”.

🔥The word WORK used in the original is ENERGY:

ἐνεργής (en-erg-eh'-o) (G1756) - to be ACTIVE, in action, effectively at work.

👉The more you hear and receive the word, the more it energizes you. Look up some of the best encouraging scriptures that will surely bless your life.

What does Hallelujah mean? (הַלְלוּ־יָהּ)

💡Hallelujah is composed of two words: hallelu (הַלְלוּ) + JAH (־יָהּ)

1️⃣ hallelu (ha/leh/loo): Exhortation given to others to a joyous praise in song.

2️⃣ Ya (or JAH): is the shortened form of God’s name Yahweh (יְהוָֹה). The divine name was regarded as too sacred to be mentioned, so it was replaced vocally in the synagogue ritual by the Hebrew word Adonai (“My Lord”).

👉When put together, it would be like saying: “Praise The LORD”, or “Praise Adonai”.

👉We use this term “hallelujah” as an expression of GREAT joy, praise, or thanksgiving to God during worship and prayer. It’s a celebratory expression. So when we say it, we say it like we mean it!

💡It dates back to ancient times and can be found in the Hebrew Bible, particularly in the Book of Psalms. In Psalm 113-118, known as the Hallel, “hallelujah” is used repeatedly as a way of praising God.

In Judaism, “hallelujah” is traditionally recited during certain holidays and festivals, such as Passover and Sukkot. It is also recited during daily prayers and other religious services.

🗡️Recommended commentaries

👉Commentaries are a very helpful tool to understanding scripture as you are provided with deep contextual insights such as the language of the text, historical background, and they help explain how the Bible connects together.

Some of the greatest theologians in history have left invaluable notes that we can all access today.

👉As with any piece of writing that has attempted to dissect scripture, commentaries are indeed fallible. Nonetheless, commentaries do a whole lot of good than bad and are certainly a great resource to use.

💡However, prior to turning to commentaries, it’s critically important that we develop the discipline of turning to prayer and mediation in God’s word so that we do not miss the opportunity to see and understand scripture through the guidance and lens of the Holy Spirit. Thereafter, one should consider observing biblical commentaries as a supplement to further their personal study.
