Nature Connection

Nature Connection Nature Connection will run a pilot program in August 2015. Activities will include outdoor exploration, arts, gardening, and games.

A summer program for children in and around Beals, ME rooted in: 1) the belief that children are the most precious treasure a community can possess; and 2) the understanding that we are organic with the world and thereby interconnected. Nature Connection will provide
space for children and their families to reflect upon their (inter)connection with the natural world and, having identified sustaina

ble action fitting with the needs of their communities and according to their talents, skills, and capacities, engage in acts of service. The program is founded on the belief that human beings are as mines rich in gems of inestimable value and education can, alone, cause each person to reveal her treasures and enable humanity to benefit as a result.

Hello Nature Connection friends! A friendly reminder to please register by Monday, August 5th (extended deadline) so we can plan materials accordingly. Also please share this info. with local Beals/Jonesport families you think may be interested in participating! Highlights of this year's program:

Hello Nature Connection Friends! Putting the save-the-date out there: The program will run August 12-16th on the following days/times -

Monday: 9AM-1PM (elementary); 1:30-4PM (MS/HS)
Tuesday: 2-5PM (all ages)*
Wednesday: 9AM-1PM (elementary); 1:30-4PM (MS/HS)
Thursday: 2-5PM (all ages)*
Friday: 9AM-1PM (all ages)

*(this is to accommodate any elementary campers who will also be attending DEI's summer program that AM)

Greetings Nature Connection friends! Thank you for another great year! We had a great group of approximately 20 children and teens meet together daily on the Backfield to explore the shore and the woods, to journal, and to play. We look forward to another great session next year. Please save the date: August 12-16th, 2019. Please post photos here and spread the word for next year. In the meantime, be well!
