Titans Representing Stuart!

Today, our Stuart Career Tech Ambassadors stepped out and headed back to junior high for Open House!

Our students had the opportunity to recruit future Titans, share their experiences at Stuart, highlight their Academies, and showcase the incredible opportunities available to our students. We are so proud to see our Titans confidently representing their campus and helping future students see what they can build at Stuart!

📚 A little taste of what’s to come!

Students in Ms. Chabera’s class participated in a Book Tasting, giving them the opportunity to sample a variety of books and genres before choosing the perfect read for them! Students browsed, read excerpts, and explored different options to find a book that sparked their interest for their upcoming book clubs!

Our first round of Dry Erase Debates sparked some surprisingly deep conversations around campus! 🙌

The question: Would you rather have a pause button or a rewind button for life?

Students and staff made some pretty compelling arguments. With pause, you could keep everything exactly as it is. You wouldn’t lose anyone and nothing would ever change or go wrong, but you’d also never meet anyone new, experience what comes next, or have the opportunity to grow.

With rewind, you could go back and relive a moment, fix mistakes, or make different choices, but how would re-visiting and changing the past affect everything that came after it? Would your future be better, or would you accidentally change something you never wanted to lose?

What started as a few tally marks on a whiteboard turned into some great conversations, friendly debates, and community-building between students and staff, which is exactly what we hoped for!

🌟 Setting the bar HIGH! 🌟

While Mrs. Vavricka was observing Mr. Guillory’s class on Friday, students were working on memorizing the FFA Creed. Most were still mastering the first paragraph or two, but 9th grader Ivanna Cazares stood up and recited the entire creed without missing a beat.

And she didn’t just memorize the words; she delivered them. Ivanna spoke with meaning, inflection, perfectly placed pauses, and emphasis. You would have thought she was standing on stage at the State FFA Convention speaking to a ballroom full of people! It was genuinely moving and incredibly impressive.

Ivanna has already expressed interest in competing in FFA Creed Speaking, and after seeing that performance, we cannot wait to see how she does in competition! We were so impressed with her poise and speaking ability that we’ve already told her we’re coming for her in three years to be one of our senior morning announcement-makers, too. 🎤

Keep up the amazing work, Ivanna! Way to represent the Class of 2030 and set the bar HIGH! 💚

Our Tour de Thanks continues with a big thank you to Jim Wadzinski and our friends at Community Toyota/Honda/Kia! 💚

As our Partner in Education, Jim and the Community team are always looking for ways to support our Titans. From providing meals to show appreciation for our hardworking staff, to purchasing Christmas gifts for families through our Angel Tree, to donating candy, pizza, and other incentives that help us recognize and celebrate our students, they continually show up for our campus in meaningful ways.

We are incredibly grateful for Jim and the entire Community team for investing in our students, staff, and families and for being such a wonderful Partner in Education! Thank you for helping us Prepare, Empower, and Propel our Titans!

We kicked off our Titan Teacher Treats in a BIG way!

Our goal this school year is to treat our teachers and staff each month, and Jeff Walters with Virginia Malone Realty generously stepped up as our very first sponsor! Today, he treated our entire staff to a hearty lunch from Antonio’s! After the first full week back, it was definitely needed! (Yes, the first week of school is exhausting for teachers, too! 😅)

We are so grateful to Jeff for his kindness and generosity. We especially appreciated him taking the time to come out and visit with our staff while they enjoyed lunch. It means so much to know our community is behind the people who pour so much into our Titans every day! 💚

Want to help us treat our teachers this year? We’re looking for one sponsor each month, and a treat can be as simple as a popsicle or bag of chips for each staff member OR a full meal like the one we were spoiled with today. Every gesture is appreciated!

Character shows in the choices we make when no one is watching. 💚

9th grader Luis Carangui showed exactly the kind of character we want to see in our Titans when he noticed that another student had dropped her Titan Bucks and immediately let a staff member know so they could be returned.

If you know SCTHS, you know Titan Bucks are a hot commodity! Students earn them for making great choices and can cash them in for snacks and prizes at our Titan Store throughout the year. Luis easily could have pocketed them, but instead, he chose honesty, and that says a lot about who he is.

We recognized Luis with a gift certificate for a free meal, courtesy of our generous partners at Raising Cane’s on Garth Road. Thank you for helping us celebrate Titans who do the right thing simply because it’s the right thing to do! 👏
