Ten years ago, Beacon Federal Credit Union and the Global Business Academy embarked on a collaborative journey with a clear aim: to equip students with personal financial literacy skills and provide them with valuable opportunities to immerse themselves in the finance industry through internships. The success of this partnership would not be possible without the support of Goose Creek Memorial High School, Goose Creek CISD, and, most importantly, the community leaders at Beacon Federal Credit Union.

We are so proud of the Global Business Academy interns from the ACE District internship for their incredible achievement in the Sculpture Trail! Their dedication, creativity, and hard work are truly paying off, resulting in the development of a special project to entice the community to visit the downtown area and discover the sculpture trail in a fun and engaging way!

As a part of their effort to get the word out, senior interns had a radio interview to share their project and achievements in their internship through a collaboration set up between Mr. Freeman, a GBA teacher, and the host of the radio show, and Mrs. Heffernan, the GBA Practicum teacher of the students! New Program Alert!

Last week, 90 eighth graders across GCCISD learned about the world of hotel management.

A huge shoutout to our fantastic partners, Hyatt Regency Baytown-Houston and Houston Community College, for providing an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the intricate workings of hotel management. The students not only gained valuable insights into the industry but also discovered a multitude of job opportunities awaiting them!

But that's not all – our collaboration with Houston Community College introduces the Hotel Management Associate degree, accessible to all students who join the Global Business Academy's Lodging and Resort Management Pathway.

Fun fact: If your student is enrolled in dual credit courses through Lee College, they're not only a GCM Global Business Academy student but also a Lee College student!

The Global Business Academy freshmen will be starting their dual credit courses with Lee College next semester, and recently, they had the opportunity to visit the Lee College campus.

They learned about the many student resources available to them as a dual credit student, met with the business advisor, and even got to see the brand new Student Center! We are so proud of our students for taking advantage of all the amazing opportunities available to them.

We had an AMAZING time today as the Global Business Academy Ambassadors and Seniors got to visit the Baytown Business Expo!

Our students took full advantage of the opportunity to network with local businesses and learn about the incredible opportunities and industries right here in our backyard!
