https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUa-ZLU7y84 Official Press Release from Ana Fernandez with Baytown PD: On Saturday, August 22, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Baytown Police responded to the 5200 block of Garth Road regarding a motorcycle crash.

The male motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS. Preliminary information indicates the motorcyclist was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed and driving between vehicles when he lost control. The motorcycle sideswiped another vehicle before crashing.

All lanes of Garth Road were temporarily closed while officers investigated. The investigation remains ongoing.

·Baytown Police Department Attempts to Locate Wanted Fugitive
On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Baytown Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the 4300 block of Crosby-Cedar Bayou Road on a subject wanted by the Chambers County Sheriff's Office for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
During the stop, the wanted subject and a second individual refused to comply with officers' commands. As a result, officers deployed pepper ball munitions and a police K-9. One person was taken into custody, while the fugitive crawled into the trunk of the vehicle.
Officers were able to access the trunk and located the subject inside, unconscious and in medical distress. Officers and responding Baytown Fire Department personnel immediately rendered medical aid. The subject was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The Baytown Police Department would like to clarify that no fi****ms were discharged during this incident, despite inaccurate claims circulating on social media.
This investigation remains active. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
