Today was a day filled with excitement, education, and some of our favorite community heroes! A HUGE thank you to the Bayonne Fire Department for spending the day with our little learners and teaching them the importance of fire prevention and safety!
Our Busy Little Bees had the opportunity to spray water to put out a pretend fire, practice how to STOP, DROP, and ROLL, and learn important fire safety lessons including why smoke detectors belong on the ceiling and NOT on top of the refrigerator!
These experiences are about so much more than a fun day! They help our students build trust and familiarity with the very people who are there to protect them. When we practice our fire drills, we want our children to feel PREPARED, not SCARED! Creating these positive connections with our first responders plays such an important role in building that confidence. We believe that some of the most valuable lessons happen when we bring our community into our classrooms. From a very early age, we teach our children that the sound of sirens means HELP is on the way.
We are so grateful to be part of a community where our local heroes take the time to connect with our youngest residents. It was a full day of learning, laughter, and memories that will last well beyond today!
A special thank you to today’s crew from the Bayonne Fire Department for being so patient, engaging, and welcoming to every single child. You made sure all of our little learners felt included, comfortable, and excited to participate!
