Community Day Nursery is a private non-profit child care center that cares for 97 preschoolers, ages 2 ½ -5 in a developmentally appropriate program 245 days each year up to 10 hours per day. We opened in 1969 and have grown in capacity, services and reputation through the years. In 1999 we initially became accredited by NAEYC and we continue to be the only child care center accredited in Bayonne

and in Hudson County. Our program has been sensitive to changes in the community and responsive to the needs of the changing population. We continually review and reassess to determine what more we can do. No other program in our community provides child care (for working parents and/or parents who are studying full time) with a sliding scale fee {$21 average weekly} based on family size and income. In addition, the medical screening and treatment services and the consulting services are easily accessed by the families at the center in a nonthreatening environment. The Community Day Nursery is a year-round program open from 7:00-5:30 pm daily. In addition, we provide: a developmental pediatric exam, pure tone and impedance hearing tests, vision screening, dental treatment, blood testing for anemia and sickle cell and speech therapy…at no additional charge. We also have a Social Worker who meets with each family to discuss their child’s adjustment and progress, provide marital counseling, provide support to immigrant families, teaches families how to set boundaries and limits. We also have a Learning Disability Teacher Consultant (LDT-C) and an Early Childhood Support Teacher (ECST) who work with children who may require extra services in fine motor, gross motor, language development and cognitive skills.

The Bayonne School District will once again be offering Pre-K 3.

The BBOED will be conducting a lottery for Pre-K 3 and all registration will go through the website www.BBOED.org. All parent information will be on the BBOED Registration website.

The online lottery will open on Wednesday, April 28th at 9 a.m. and close on Tuesday, May 18th at 3:00 p.m.



The online drawing will take place on Wednesday, May 19th, 2021 at 10 a.m.
