Huge Congratulations to Bill Przygocki!

I couldn't be prouder to announce the promotion of my long-time student and dear friend, Bill Przygocki, to the rank of Yondan (4th Degree Black Belt)!

Watching Bill reach this milestone is a special moment for our dojo. His technical mastery is incredible, and he has become highly effective in:
* Hakko Ryu Jujutsu
* Yosh*tsune Jujutsu
* Goshin Waza

More than just the Jujutsu, it’s the history we share that makes this meaningful. Bill and I have been friends for over 40 years, and he has been a cornerstone of our dojo since we first opened the dojo nearly 20 years ago.

His dedication, skill, and character represent the very best of our martial arts community. Please join me in congratulating Bill on this well-deserved achievement!

Reflecting on an incredible experience at the Renshinkai at the Hakko Ryu Hombu. It is an honor to participate in an event that has been held consecutively for over 50 years to keep the art pure.

Deepest Gratitude:
• To Soke: Thank you for the invitation. Your personal review of the Shihan and Kaiden curriculum is vital to keeping Hakko Ryu strong, and I am amazed by the deep nuances I learned this visit.

• To the Okuyama Family: Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

• To Waka Sensei: I am profoundly grateful for your guidance and your endless patience in answering my many technical questions.

A Sacred Milestone:
I am deeply humbled to have received the transmission of the San Dai Kichu principles and my third and final scroll. This is a responsibility I accept with the utmost respect.

To my Japanese Brother Shihans:
Thank you for welcoming me back. It is a unique honor to be the sole non-Japanese practitioner in this group—sharing and learning alongside you is a gift I truly treasure.

To Ralph Briggs:
Congratulations on your promotion to Godan (5th Dan). This achievement follows a rigorous and extensive examination, including a full demonstration of all five levels of Kata, as well as Iaikumitachi and Kobutokumitachi. Your transition from Renshi, Yondan, Jun Shidoin to this new rank is a testament to your deep technical mastery and commitment to the art.

To Humberto Rubet:
A massive congratulations on being promoted to Sandan (3rd Degree) directly from the Hombu. This rank marks your official transition from an introductory student to an advanced practitioner. With this comes the new responsibility of leadership and serving as a role model for those following in your footsteps.
We are incredibly proud of both of you for representing our school with such skill and spirit.

We just completed our annual tradition of 1,000 cuts to welcome the New Year. It was an honor to train with such a dedicated group of swordsmen on this frigid Saturday morning, despite the wind howling outside. We look forward to another year of chasing perfection and continuing to sharpen our blades together. Happy New Year!
