What an amazing day to be a Hurricane! As we come to the end of day 1 of the 2026/27 school year, here are a few reminders.

1. Early student pick up ends at 2:35. If your student is being picked up early, it must be before this time.

2. If you are picking up a middle school student in the car riders line, please do not line up before 2:40. High School dismisses first and those parents will need to be able to pick up their student.

3. Both Bus and Car Riders will be released at 3:05.

4. As we prepare for day 2, please be aware that drop off is not until 7:30 and students must be dropped off in the front of the building. No students will be let in the building through the back doors of the Cafeteria.

Pancakes with Principals was a SUCCESS! Mrs. Minor and Mrs. Sutton put their cooking skills to the test and cooked our PCMS teachers breakfast on the last teacher workday before kiddos come back on Monday!!!

🚗 New school, new traffic pattern! 🖤💛

As we get ready to open the doors to our brand-new PCMS/PCHS, we’ve got one more new thing to learn - how to get in and out! 😄

Please take a few minutes to check out the traffic flow map before the first day of school. A little advance planning will help keep everyone moving safely and smoothly during arrival and dismissal. Thank you to the Pamlico County Sheriff's Department for providing an officer to help with traffic flow on highway 55!

We know it may take a few days for all of us to get the hang of it, so pack a little patience, follow the signs and directions, and remember - we’re all rookies at this!

We can’t wait to welcome our Hurricanes to their new school!

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!

Open house is tonight and we cannot wait to see you!!!

While the parking area in front of the building is still under construction we will be using the rear entrance tonight for Open House. Parking will be at any of the Fred A. Anderson Elementary School parking areas.

We will be welcoming
6th graders from 4:30 - 5:15
7th and 8th graders from 5:30 - 6:45

Today, our PCMS family came back together, and it felt GOOD to have everyone back and in our new building!

Our opening meeting gave us an opportunity to reconnect, celebrate, and cast the vision for the 2026–2027 school year.

Our teachers are back.
Our team is ready.
Our new home is waiting.
And next week, we get to welcome the most important part of PCMS back…OUR STUDENTS! 🖤💛

We can't wait!

PCMS Volleyball Tryouts will be open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls on the first and second day of school (8/24, 8/25)! Tryouts will be hosted in the PCMS Gym (yes, the new one!). All participants must have an up to date physical to tryout!

Closed toe shoes and athletic style shorts/pants are required. Knee pads are optional but recommended.

Looking forward to starting the season on Monday!!
