🌟 What a WEEK at FAA! 🌟

It has been one of the busiest weeks EVER at FAA, full of learning, new experiences, excitement, and memories! 💛🖤

🚀 We kicked off the week celebrating our 5th graders graduating from STARBASE! What an incredible opportunity for our students to explore science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on learning!

💃 Our 4th graders participated in dance workshops with Black Box Dance Company, exploring creativity, movement, and self-expression. Later in the week, Black Box treated our entire school to an AMAZING performance!

🐄 Mrs. Keen's class, in partnership with Mrs. Day's class from Pamlico Primary School, enjoyed a visit to Simply Natural Creamery and Farm! Students had the opportunity to learn about farm life and where some of our favorite dairy products come from!

🦈 Our 4th graders visited the Fossil Museum, where they explored fossils, prehistoric creatures, and a little bit of history right here in eastern North Carolina!

📚 Our Book Fair brought lots of excitement, and we wrapped up the week with our Title I Night: Camping Under the Stars! Our chorus and instrumental ensemble gave AMAZING performances, and our families enjoyed an evening full of reading, learning, and fun!

WHEW! What a week! We are so thankful for the experiences our students had, the people who made them possible, and our wonderful staff who kept it all going!

It was busy, it was memorable, and it was ALL worth it! Now, we REST! 🌟💛🖤

✨🖤💛 TODAY, WE’RE GIVING MRS. ANEL HER FLOWERS! 💛🖤✨

Every school has people who work behind the scenes to keep things moving, but every now and then, you are blessed with someone who becomes so much more than their job title.

Today, Fred Anderson Elementary celebrates our amazing Ms. Anel Beltran-Milan! 🌟

Mrs. Anel is our one and only custodian, and she wears that title with so much pride, love, and dedication. For the past three years, she has been an essential part of our FAA family, and honestly… we don’t know what we would do without her!

Mrs. Anel is here early in the mornings helping with car duty, making sure our students and families get started on the right foot. She helps clean the cafeteria after breakfast, cleans bathrooms with toothbrushes to make sure they are presentable, keeps our building clean and welcoming, jumps in to help with fire drills and whatever else comes her way, and somehow ALWAYS finds a way to help when we need her.

But here’s the thing about Mrs. Anel… she doesn’t just take care of our building. She takes care of our people. ❤️

Her smile can brighten an entire room. You rarely see her without that beautiful smile on her face. We may not always know what she has going on outside of these walls, but one thing we know for sure is that she never allows it to stop her from showing up with love, kindness, and a positive spirit for our students and staff.

Mrs. Anel is a confidant, encourager, helper, treat-bringer, check-in-on-you kind of person 😂❤️. She asks about our families. She tells us how much she appreciates us. She tells us how much she misses us when we’re away. She brings us little treats just because. And she has a heart that is simply GOLDEN.

She has become a safe and familiar face for our students, too. Our children love her. Our staff loves her. And if you know Mrs. Anel, you already know that her presence is one of those special things that makes FAA feel like HOME.

Custodian Appreciation Day may only come once a year, but our appreciation for Ms. Anel happens every single day. 🥹💛

Mrs. Anel, we hope you know just how much you mean to us. We are grateful for every early morning, every cleaned-up cafeteria, every helping hand, every smile, every conversation, every treat, every “How is your family?” and every little thing you do that sometimes goes unnoticed but is NEVER unappreciated.

You are absolutely one of the Many Stars on Our One Path, and your light shines so brightly that it is impossible not to notice. ⭐

We love you, Mrs. Anel!
We appreciate you.
We celebrate you.
We are thankful for you.
And we are so incredibly blessed to call you FAA FAMILY! 🖤💛

Today, we’re not just saying “thank you.”
We’re giving you the flowers you deserve while you can smell them. We can't wait to celebrate you when you get back.💐

🌟 THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU, MRS. ANEL! 🌟

🌟 October is Principal Appreciation Month! 🌟

And here at Fred Anderson Elementary, we want to take a moment to Shine the Light on someone who means so much to our FAA Family—our principal, Mrs. Wendy White. 🖤💛⭐

Wendy stepped into this role knowing it would be a challenge. And if we’re being honest, the beginning wasn’t always easy. There were moments of uncertainty, moments that brought tears, and moments when the weight of the responsibility was heavy.

But Wendy did something that takes courage.

She kept going.

She took time to reflect. She found her focus. She leaned into the work. And somewhere along the way, she didn’t just accept the role, she ended up embracing it. ❤️

Today, we see the difference.

We see it in the culture of our building.
We see it in the relationships she has built.
We see it in the way she loves our students.
We see it in the way she shows up for her staff.
And most importantly, we see her heart.

Wendy has an open door policy not just literally, but figuratively. She makes space for people. She listens. She hears your ideas. She will sit with you through a difficult conversation, a professional challenge, or even a personal hardship. And the majority of the time, you won’t have to look far to find her because she is right there in our classrooms, hallways, and among our students and staff. ❤️

One thing Wendy says often is how much she appreciates her staff and that she couldn’t do this work or serve our students the way she does without us.

But, Wendy, we want you to know something, too:

You don’t do this alone and neither do we.

You have a staff that believes in you.
A staff that supports you.
A staff that roots for you.
A staff that sees how hard you work.
A staff that has watched you grow into this role and is proud to stand beside you.

We are not just a staff.

We are an FAA Family. ⭐

Wendy, thank you for choosing to keep going when it was hard. Thank you for allowing yourself to grow through the uncomfortable moments. Thank you for being vulnerable enough to listen, humble enough to reflect, and strong enough to lead.

Thank you for loving Fred Anderson Elementary.
Thank you for loving our children.
Thank you for loving your people.

And thank you for reminding us that leadership isn’t about having all the answers. Sometimes, it’s about having the heart to listen, the courage to keep moving forward, and the humility to know that we are better when we do it together.

We see you, Wendy.
We appreciate you.
We believe in you.
And we are so proud to call you our principal. 🖤💛

Help us give a HUGE Fred Anderson Elementary shout-out to Mrs. Wendy White! 🎉👏🏽⭐

Happy Principal Appreciation Month, Wendy!

✨ Many Stars. One Path. One FAA Family. ✨

⭐ Respect Shines at FAA! ⭐

This month, our All Stars have been learning about the importance of RESPECT—showing kindness, using appropriate words and actions, listening to others, and treating everyone the way we want to be treated.

We are excited to celebrate these students who were recognized for consistently demonstrating respect throughout our school! 🌟

We are proud of the example they are setting for others and the positive difference they make each day.

Congratulations to our respectful All Stars! Keep SHINING! ⭐🖤💛
