Our competition season is starting soon! Practices for livestock evaluation will start this week and are open to any PCMS FFA member who might be interested in competing. Practices will be held from 3:15-4:15 in Mrs. Grubbs' room. Please see Mrs. Grubbs if you have any questions.

On Tuesday, October 6th, PCMS FFA members had the opportunity to attend the Southeast Regional Leadership Conference. The Southeast Regional Leadership Conference is a leadership conference for FFA members in the Southeast region, run by the Southeast regional officers. Students attend leadership workshops, meet members from other schools, and learn what it takes to grow as FFA leaders. We had a great time and can't wait to see our members put what they learned into practice.

Don't forget about our FFA Chapter meeting tomorrow after school from 3:15-4:30!! There will be a lot of information being put out about our competitions this year and many opportunities that are available to our members! We hope to see you there!

Our Kiss the Pig Fundraiser starts at the end of this week! Here's how it works: There will be mason jars set up by Mrs. Grubbs' classroom for each teacher, where students can donate money. Students will be allowed to vote/donate during breakfast and lunch. The teacher who has the most money donated by the day of the middle school homecoming game (October 14th) will have to kiss an actual pig during halftime of our homecoming game!

The following teachers have volunteered to be a part of this fundraiser; it looks like it's going to be a fun one!

It's time for our first chapter meeting of the year! This Friday, September 11th, from 3:30 pm to 4:30pm in Mrs. Grubbs' room. Every middle school student is welcome to join, even if you're not in FFA yet! If you have any questions, please ask Mrs. Grubbs!

State Convention was so much fun! We are so proud of our middle school and high school students that participated!

We have made it to Raleigh for the 97th North Carolina FFA Convention! Hayley competed today in the Jim Graham Creed Speaking CDE and we are excited to see how she does. Everybody else competes tomorrow and we are here to have fun, meet new friends, and learn more about the amazing organization of FFA.
