✨ If you had one wish…✨

Today, we stumbled upon a little wishing bench, complete with pennies and a bit of magic.

One by one, our Kismet Kinders took a seat, held a penny, and paused to think about what their hearts wished for. Then, they let their wishes go into the world.

And it left me wondering…

As grown-ups, we spend so much time wishing for our children. For happiness, for kindness, for a world that treats them gently.

But how often do we stop to wonder what they wish for themselves?

Maybe today is a good day to ask. You might be surprised by the magic tucked inside their answers.

You Never Know Who's Listening. 🌿❤️

This morning, while walking with two little friends I was caring for, we met a lovely woman named Mrs. Karen on Wolf Road.

She recognized me as the teacher who walks with the children from Kismet Kinders. Although we'd never met, she shared how often she hears our days unfolding in the distance — our conversations, laughter, singing, and play.

She went on to tell me how much she enjoys listening and how touched she is by the way I speak with the children.

What a beautiful, unexpected gift.

It reminded me that the little things we do every day reach farther than we realize. Our voices carry. Our kindness carries. And sometimes, without ever knowing it, we're bringing joy to someone else's day.

A sweet reminder to always lead with love. You never know who's listening. 🌻

🍂🍇 We’re JAMMIN’ our way into October at Kismet!

🎶 “And to think that jammin’ was a thing of the past…”— not around here!

What better way to welcome October and the harvest season than by turning beautiful Concord grapes into homemade jam!We learned the steps from grape to jar, got our hands busy, peeling, popping, stirring, squishing and creating, and of course did plenty of tasting along the way. Some friends decided the best way to enjoy homemade jam was simply straight up!💜

These are the days we love most at Kismet—taking what the season and nature provide and turning it into hands-on learning, new experiences, and sweet memories together.

Here’s to a beautiful October filled with creating, exploring, learning and a whole lot of jammin’! 🍇🍂🎶

Goodbye, September! 🍂✨

The month that welcomed us back together, ushered in a brand-new season, and reminded us just how much magic can be found in the changing world around us.

As the days grow shorter, the air gets crisper, and nature continues to transform, we’re so excited for all the wonder the colder months will bring—muddy boots, crunchy leaves, cozy moments, new discoveries, and plenty of Kismet magic along the way. 🍁🤎

Here’s to following the seasons and seeing where they take us next!

As we welcome the Autumn Equinox, we are noticing the beautiful shift in the rhythm of the year. The Wheel of the Year offers children a meaningful way to understand the cycles happening all around them: the changing light, the cooler air, the harvest, the busy squirrels, the falling leaves, and the quiet invitation to gather, prepare, and give thanks.

At Kismet, we celebrate these seasonal thresholds not simply as dates on a calendar, but as opportunities to slow down, observe, wonder, and feel connected to the living world. Through these rhythms, children begin to recognize that they, too, are part of nature—learning to care for it, be aware of its needs, and coexist thoughtfully with all the beings around them.

We have been enjoying making our classroom feel more and more like *us*—a space shaped by the children’s ideas, markings, creations, and growing sense of belonging. And before we officially said goodbye to summer, we managed to squeeze in one more joyful bit of water play!

Now, we are ready to embrace all that autumn brings.

And just like that, our first week of the playschool year is wrapped up. 🌿

So much gratitude for our Kismet families and the time everyone makes to come together. Today’s Drum Circle was a whole different kind of Kismet experience — music, movement, laughter, a little beautiful chaos, and most of all, community. 🥁

So grateful for the love and connection that continues to grow here. What a beautiful way to begin our year together. ✨ Thank you to Trust Drum Circles for always bringing the love!

As I reflect on five years of Kismet, one of the greatest gifts has been hearing from families after their children have moved on. ❤️

Sometimes a message arrives years later and reminds me that what we were building here was so much bigger than preschool.

Recently, a few former Kismet parents shared these words with me.

When I started Kismet, I wanted to create a place where childhood could unfold slowly—where children were deeply known, where relationships mattered, where there was room to play, struggle, explore, make mistakes, build confidence and simply "be little."

Five years later, hearing what families and children still carry with them might be the most meaningful measure of this little school I could ever ask for.

They grow up and move on, but somehow they remain part of Kismet—and Kismet remains a little part of them. 🌿❤️
