What an amazing turnout for the 10th anniversary Liam autism awareness crawl , we did not have a winner at the crawl, so we’re hoping that we can identify the individual that won the 50-50. If you were at the LIAM Foundation Bay Shore Crawl and purchased a 50/50 ticket that ends in 44, DM a picture of your ticket and we will confirm you have the winning ticket and arrange payout of your winnings! The LIAM Foundation is proud to announce the 10th Anniversary of our annual Autism Awareness Crawl. As our signature fundraising event, the crawl generates vital support to provide children with special needs a "shadow" mentor, allowing them to fully participate in Y of Long Island summer camps. In our 13 years of service, we have proudly sent over 400 children to camp, championing a mission rooted in diversity and inclusion. In light of the news that a school has banned an autistic child from attending field trips, I feel the need to say something about this. There are boys and girls that no one invites to birthdays for example. There are kids who want to be part of a team, but they don’t get picked because winning is more important than taking care of each other and the value of the “everyone can participate” philosophy. Children with special needs are neither rare nor strange, they just want what everyone else wants... to be accepted for who they are!
