📣 SCHOOL DAY ACT AT BAY HIGH SCHOOL! Bay High School will be offering the ACT to interested BHS students on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, on the BHS campus!

⭐ Benefits of taking the School Day ACT:
• Take the ACT in a comfortable and familiar environment
• Test with familiar teachers and staff
• Save $20.00 on the cost of registration
• No additional transportation needed — test right here at school!

MDMR’s Blake Stringfellow, Emily Satterfield and Megan Fleming recently participated at Bay High School’s Workforce Wednesdays to introduce students to careers and opportunities in marine science.

The team spoke with two marine science classes before opening a third session to any students interested in learning more about the field. From protecting our coastal resources to studying marine life, there are many ways to turn a passion for our coast into a career!

We’re proud to connect with the next generation of marine scientists and share the work happening right here in Mississippi.

Ms. Strong’s Ed Prep 1 students had the opportunity to step outside the box—literally!

For this project, students created Identity Boxes that represented who they are, both on the outside and on the inside. They chose objects, pictures, words, and meaningful items that represented their experiences, values, relationships, interests, and the people and moments that have helped shape them.

This project was about so much more than decorating a box. It was about self-reflection, vulnerability, creativity, and understanding what makes each of us unique. As future educators, knowing who we are and understanding the experiences that shape us is so important. Those experiences will ultimately influence the kind of teachers we become.

Watching these students share pieces of themselves with their classmates was such a special experience. This is just the beginning of their journey, and we can't wait to see where it takes them! Future educators in the making!
