Partners for Stennis & Michoud celebrated 30 years of advocacy and regional collaboration during its 2026 Semi-Annual Meeting on September 16 at INFINITY Science Center.

Members and community leaders heard updates from Christine Powell, Director of NASA’s Stennis Space Center; Blaine LaFontaine, Executive Director of the Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission; and Bill Meadows, Senior Site Director for Blue Origin, who shared an update on the historic Thad Cochran Test Stand “B-Test Complex.”

The meeting also included the introduction of the new Partners for Stennis & Michoud Chairman and a look ahead at the 2026 Port-Air-Space Day & America 250 Celebration, coming to Coleman Avenue in Waveland November 6–7.

Welcome to Mississippi! 🚀

This morning NASA’s Pegasus Barge delivered Blue Origin's second stage, known as GS2, to NASA Stennis.

Blue Origin is preparing to test the second stage of the New Glenn rocket on the Thad Cochran Test Stand (B-2).

NASA Stennis provides critical testing infrastructure for the agency’s Artemis program, and this testing highlights NASA’s commitment to working alongside commercial partners toward Artemis missions in 2027 and beyond.

Did you know? 🚀

NASA Stennis is America’s largest multi-user propulsion test site, supporting America's space program and a wide variety of commercial space efforts and missions.

This comes with a dynamic schedule of ongoing propulsion tests.

Depending on weather conditions like wind or cloud cover, you may occasionally hear or feel a rumble in surrounding communities.

This is why a test may be heard one day, while a similar one on another day may not be heard at all.

NASA regularly measures and evaluates noise levels to ensure they remain within safe exposure limits.

We value the community support along the Gulf Coast region, as we carry out work in a safe and responsible manner.
