Bay Minette's Public Works Department is comprised of six divisions: Streets, Sanitation, Fleet Services, Parks, Grounds and Mowing.

The City of Bay Minette Public Works Department is committed to keeping our community clean, safe, and looking its best. You can help by knowing your collection schedule and reporting yard debris or bulky items when they are ready for pickup.

Yard Debris Pick-up Schedule:

• Monday: District 1 (on East Side) & District 3
• Tuesday: District 1 (on West side) & District 2
• Wednesday: Bulky item pickup in all five districts
• Thursday: District 4 & District 5
• Friday: Yard debris pickup follows Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday routes

Yard debris includes natural materials from landscape maintenance such as grass clippings, leaves, pine straw, twigs, and branches.

Bulky waste includes furniture, appliances, mattresses, carpets, and similar household items. Please separate bulky waste from yard debris and household garbage. Construction and demolition debris is not eligible for this service.

*Tires, paint, and other hazardous materials are not eligible for pick-up. Residents should take these items directly to the Baldwin County Transfer Station on Nicholsville Road.

*Any construction and contractor debris, including tree removal, should be removed by the contractor or a fee will be assessed at $75 per load by the City of Bay Minette.

To schedule a pickup, call Public Works at 251-580-1848.

Please have the following information ready:
• Name
• Address
• Phone number
• Description of the items to be picked up

Helpful reminders:
• Public Works has up to 7 business days from notification to complete your pickup.
• Place all items on the public right-of-way for collection.
• Do not place items in ditches or on private property, as our crews cannot access them.
• Separate yard debris from bulky waste before placing items curbside.

The City of Bay Minette Public Works Department has been hard at work this week improving our streets and neighborhoods.

This week, crews have:
• Cleaned gutters along Hand Avenue
• Trimmed trees along roadways and sidewalks
• Swept streets throughout the city

These projects help keep our roads and sidewalks safe while improving drainage and maintaining the appearance of our community.

As a reminder, please refer to our Bulky Item Pickup and Yard Debris Collection Schedule to help ensure materials are placed out on the correct collection days.

✅ ROAD UPDATE ✅

The City of Bay Minette Public Works Department has completed repairs to the collapsed culvert on Abernathy Avenue.

🚗 Abernathy Avenue, from Williams Street to Brady Road, is now OPEN to all traffic.

We sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of our residents while our crews worked to safely complete these necessary repairs. Thank you to our Public Works team for their hard work and dedication in restoring the roadway as quickly as possible.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧

Beginning Tuesday, July 14, 2026, a section of Abernathy Avenue from Williams Street to Brady Road will be closed while the City of Bay Minette Public Works Department replaces a collapsed culvert beneath the roadway.

This repair is necessary to ensure the safety of motorists and to restore the integrity of the roadway.

Please plan an alternate route and use caution when traveling in the area.

We will post updates on the City of Bay Minette page and Bay Minette Public Works page as work progresses and will notify residents as soon as the roadway has reopened.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our Public Works crews work to complete these repairs safely and as quickly as possible.

The City of Bay Minette Public Works Department has been hard at work this week addressing storm-related issues and infrastructure improvements throughout the city.

Crews have cleared ditch pipes, helped clear deep culverts and ditches, these clean out improvements were done on West 5th Street to Hand Ave. These efforts help improve drainage, reduce flooding concerns, and maintain safe roadways and walkways for our residents.

🚛 Yard Debris & Bulky Item Pickup Reminder 🌳🛋️

Our Public Works Department works hard to keep Bay Minette clean and beautiful. While crews do their best to make yard debris and bulky item pickup routes approximately every other week, residents must notify us when they have items ready for collection.

To report a pickup, call Public Works at 251-580-1848 and provide:
• Your name
• Your address
• Your phone number
• A description of the items needing pickup (yard debris, furniture, appliances, etc.)

Once reported, our Public Works crew has up to 7 business days to complete the pickup.

Please remember:
• Tires, paint, and other hazardous materials are not eligible for pickup. These items should be taken to the Baldwin County Transfer Station on Nicholsville Road.
• Construction and contractor debris, including drywall, lumber, insulation, roofing materials, and debris from tree removal, must be removed by the contractor. If collected by the City, a $75 per load fee will be assessed.
• Yard debris and bulky waste must be placed in separate piles. They are collected on different schedules.
• Do not place debris, garbage, or waste in ditches or on sidewalks. Doing so can clog drainage systems and contribute to flooding.
