Plant Southern peas in full sun, where they will receive six to eight hours of sunlight each day. Space plants 4 to 6 inches apart in garden rows, or grow one plant in a 5- to 7-gallon container. Plant from April through July after the danger of frost has passed, and harvest in approximately 60 to 70 days when the pods are fully developed. Harvest time may vary by variety.
Find growing instructions and delicious recipes featuring Southern peas below, including Alabama Extensionβs Fresh Black-Eyed Peas and Vinaigrette for Pea Salad. Then, grow a little extra and share your harvest with someone in your community! https://www.aces.edu/go/5279
