TRiO -Student Support Services Coastal Alabama Community College Coyotes

Our TRIO Student Support Services students recently traveled to Huntsville to attend the Alabama TRIO Student STEM Conference: Metaverse 🌟 — and what an experience it was!

The conference gave our students the opportunity to explore, create, connect, and imagine what’s possible in the ever-changing world of STEM. From emerging technologies and artificial intelligence to aerospace, biotechnology, media, robotics, and career opportunities, our students were introduced to possibilities that may have once felt out of reach.

And the learning didn't stop there!
🏫 We toured Alabama State University on the way to Huntsville.
🤝 We connected with students from across Alabama at the conference.
🚀 We explored the U.S. Space & Rocket Center on the way home.

Experiences like these are what TRIO SSS is all about — helping our students step outside the classroom, experience new opportunities, build meaningful connections, and see the endless possibilities that await them. Coastal Alabama Community College Alabama TRiO Association

Student Support Services students are more likely to complete a two-year degree, transfer, or earn a bachelor’s degree than comparable nonparticipants, according to the Department of Education’s own rigorous evaluation

TRIO leads. TRIO changes lives.

This week is National TRIO Week of Action, and today, we are calling on the entire nation to flood Capitol Hill with one clear message:

Here’s what I need you to do.

Make three phone calls today: one to your U.S. House Representative and one to each of your two U.S. Senators.

You can reach any congressional office through the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121.

Say this:

“My name is [Your Name], and I am a constituent from [District/State]. I am extremely concerned about the proposed changes to TRIO, and I’m calling to ask [Representative/Senator Name] to contact the Secretary of Education today and insist that the Department rescind, revise, and reissue the Talent Search and EOC grant proposals.”

Then, challenge at least five people in your circle to do the same.

Every single call must be counted. This helps us measure our collective advocacy strength, identify congressional engagement, and demonstrate the full force of the TRIO community. When offices are overwhelmed with constituent calls, attention shifts. Pressure builds. Decisions change.
