SKYLER LEISENTRITT, BAY CITY ACADEMY

The junior delivered a milestone that will last forever, hauling in the first touchdown catch in Bay City Academy football history. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound tight end snared a 26-yard scoring toss from Ryan Olson to give the first-year Lumberjacks their first trip to the end zone.

“He was pretty pumped,” coach Rob McDaniel said. “That will mean so much to him. I’m sure the story will change 100 times when he gets older.”

Leisentritt finished with two receptions for 63 yards. He also registered a safety at defensive end in the Academy’s 20-18 loss to Au Gres. He drew 72.4 percent of the 6,313 ballots cast in the poll, outdistancing runner-up Charlie Hempton of Cass City at 20.1 percent.

✨ BCA HOMECOMING 2026! ✨

This year is a BIG one at Bay City Academy! 🪓💙

For the first time, BCA has an official athletics program — and with it comes the chance to build some brand-new traditions. We’re so excited to celebrate our first official Homecoming season and make it one our students will remember!

🎟️ Homecoming Dance tickets are officially ON SALE for all high school students!

Get ready for a night in the city with music, dancing, friends, photos, food, and plenty of Lumberjack spirit!

We made it through the first week of school!

The students are settling in, the routines are starting to routine, and the BCA staff are doing GREAT. Totally fine. Definitely not exhausted.

Meanwhile, maintenance is wondering how we made this much of a mess in five days.

What a way to make BCA history.

Our Lumberjacks took the field for the very first time tonight and fought until the final second. We may not have gotten the win, but we could not be prouder of the heart, determination, and fight our boys showed on that field.

And Lumberjack Nation SHOWED UP. An hour away from home, our BCA crowd filled the away bleachers and then some. Seeing our families, students, staff, and community there cheering on this team made an already special night even better.

First game. First season. Just the beginning. 💙🪓🏈

We are so proud of you, Lumberjacks!
