We had a great time celebrating the special people in our life last Friday.

Friends enjoyed making a special project, showing the special people in their life their favorite work, and enjoying a yummy treat.

Thank you to all who were able to come out and help us celebrate grandparents day/special person day!

Today we celebrated one of our friend’s birthday!

A Montessori celebration looks a little different from a traditional one.

A candle is placed in the center of the circle to represent the sun. One year is how long it takes for the Earth to orbit around the sun, so the birthday friend holds the earth and walks around the sun one time for each year old. After each completed lap, the teacher shares milestones from that specific year of the friend’s life. After the last lap was completed, we sang happy birthday!

Our first bean and broccoli harvest from our garden!

We have two more heads of broccoli, two cucumbers and a ton of tomatoes that were just waiting for to ripen.

That’s a wrap on our summer program and camps. We had a wonder summer!

Our last few weeks included super hero’s and the human body, pirates and nautical adventures and outer space.
We even had a visit from a pirate!

We also had a few outings with our friends at New Hope Bay!

We can’t wait for next summer to return with all new exciting themes!!

Our last couple of weeks of camp included Christmas in July and Art Studio Extravaganza!

For Christmas in July week, Santa made a visit! The friends had some yummy grinch and bagel reindeer snacks, and enjoyed a Christmas theme throughout the classroom.

For our Art Studio Extravaganza, friends learned about various artists, and then tried to recreate the artists renditions, according to how they interpreted it. They also each received a canvas and a set of paints to design their own masterpiece. For snack they enjoyed paint pallets and paint brushes.

We only have a few more weeks to enjoy all the fun things happening at summer camp!
