Why do you want a blended schedule for your students? How have you found this to be helpful?
We are finding that Virtual teaches self-motivation and instills accountability skills which is helping prepare for college. On the other hand, we felt that some classes like Science, Foreign Language, Industrial Arts, etc., are better taught and learned via a hands-on, in-person environment.
How do you think a blended approach will help them in the future?

The key is learning to prioritize tasks, time management, meet your obligations and deadlines, and not falling into the virtual trap of only doing the minimum.

What is it about the program that you appreciate?
We have found the program to be critical in facilitating a well-rounded experience, blending allows the best of both worlds.

Anything else you can add that others should know about?
We have found Virtual/Blended doesn’t mean disconnected. The students can join sports or other activities, and still remain connected to the high-school experience and maintain critical social skill development.

Mrs. Ostroski's Virtual Students learned about responsibility to the community through a service project this winter. They collected clothes, toys, books, and so much more for families in need. Students were encouraged to participate however they could. Some made cards while others helped wrap the gifts. We appreciate all the students, teachers, and families that participated!
