Upperman Rolls Past Livingston Academy 41-7 on Homecoming Night

BAXTER, Tenn. — Upperman made Homecoming night a celebration from start to finish Thursday, using a dominant ground attack and a fast start to roll past Region 4-4A rival Livingston Academy, 41-7, at Billy C. Rodgers Stadium.
The Bees scored 21 points in the opening quarter, led 28-0 at halftime and never allowed Livingston Academy to seriously threaten the lead.
The win moves Upperman to 5-2 overall and a perfect 3-0 in Region 4-4A, while Livingston Academy falls to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in region play.
BEES POUND AWAY ON THE GROUND
Upperman’s offense needed only 43 plays to produce 420 yards, averaging 9.8 yards per snap. The biggest difference came on the ground, where the Bees piled up 372 rushing yards on 38 attempts with five rushing touchdowns.
Sophomore Gavin Frazier set the tone.
Frazier carried 12 times for 125 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 10.4 yards per carry. He opened the scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run, added a 2-yard score in the third quarter and capped his night with a 29-yard touchdown in the fourth.
Jude Fitzpatrick was nearly as productive, rushing 13 times for 122 yards and a touchdown, including a 37-yard scoring run.
Elijah Barlow added 67 rushing yards and a touchdown while completing 4-of-5 passes for 48 yards and another score. His 28-yard touchdown pass to Colton Johnson helped Upperman build its 21-0 first-quarter advantage.
Upperman finished with 20 first downs, including 17 on the ground.
LIVINGSTON FINDS BARNES THROUGH THE AIR
The Wildcats struggled to establish their running game against the Upperman defense, finishing with minus-1 net rushing yard on 17 attempts.
Quarterback Logan Sells completed 14-of-27 passes for 198 yards, while Baylor Barnes provided Livingston’s biggest offensive production with seven receptions for 134 yards.
Livingston’s lone touchdown came in the third quarter when Sells scored on a 3-yard run.
The Wildcats finished with 220 total yards, with 221 coming through the air.
FRAZIER EARNS PRIME TIME HONORS
On a night when Upperman controlled the line of scrimmage and produced one explosive run after another, Frazier was at the center of it.
12 carries. 125 yards. Three touchdowns.
